Tractores

Many members of the Welland Valley Vintage Traction Club own vintage and classic tractors. These range from mid-sized 1980s Ford tractors, back to 1930s Ferguson Browns. The 3-point linkage designed by Harry Ferguson and fitted to the Ferguson Brown tractor is still used by every modern tractor today, almost 100 years later - a testament to its efficiency and practicality. Members tractors include models from many manufacturers including Ferguson & Massey Ferguson, Ford and Fordson, International Harvester, Nuffield, Zeter and others.

Tractor runs are popular and well atended by club members. Many also take part in ploughing matches and atend agricultural showes and rallies. At least 2 tractor road runs per year are organised, where members and friends spend a few hours travelling around a guided preplanned route in the local area. The club yard is used a a meeting point for the start of the road run.

Country fairs and vintage rallies are great for showing off the tractors with a number of local events being within driving distance. For those with transportation, there are larger events further afield. Working days and ploughing competitions are always popular, where tractor owners can use their tractor and plough/ cultivator out in the field.

Members at the yard are always happy to have a chat about their vehicles and offer advice
